I'm glad you enjoyed seeing some of the farmhouse furniture. That bread box is unusual - I saw a "real" one in France and could not believe that it was just for bread! So fancy! I was thrilled to find a miniature one.

ТатьянаTatianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17808789020164375540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305797144663798085.post-87639738609362033092015-09-15T12:41:06.238-05:002015-09-15T12:41:06.238-05:00Hi Maria - Thanks for your comments; I appreciate ...Hi Maria - Thanks for your comments; I appreciate your positive input. I thoroughly enjoyed preparing all the furnishings for the farmhouse - even if I can't claim the credit for making any of the pieces myself!
MarjorieMarjorie Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12104669798186181705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305797144663798085.post-23490629964512902052015-09-15T12:36:13.197-05:002015-09-15T12:36:13.197-05:00Hello Giac,
Thank you for all the nice comments. I...Hello Giac,
Thank you for all the nice comments. It's interesting that you have the same bread box and dough trough that are in the farmhouse! Actually, when I saw a real bread box - very similar to the one I have - hanging on the wall of an antique store several years ago in France, I thought it must be a reliquary for religious items because of its ornate design. When the shop's proprietor told me that it was a BREAD BOX, I could hardly believe it! So I was thrilled to find a miniature one for the farmhouse. Yes, I did the aging of the farmhouse furnishings. I purchased all the furniture, since I have yet to try to make any pieces of furniture myself. I did build the trestle table and benches from a kit, but that was the extent of my furniture-making endeavors. But I think that I "refinished" everything that I bought in one way or another to make it look more worn or just to fit the style of the farmhouse a little better. For instance, I added grape stains to the grape press; I also repainted Marcel and Lisbette's new bed, which was originally black. I felt guilty at muddying up the beautiful boots by the Doll's Cobbler - but they did need to be messy working boots! Thank you for your interest.
MarjorieMarjorie Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12104669798186181705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4305797144663798085.post-19777089589278072782015-09-15T12:16:53.652-05:002015-09-15T12:16:53.652-05:00Hello Pilar,
